The challenge
Central England Co-operative is proud of its reputation for ethical business practices and corporate responsibility.
To support these objectives it needed a collection service that met environmental, economic and sustainability
targets, and helped them to service their sites efficiently providing one point of contact and consistent reporting.
The solution
Central England Co-operative wanted a supplier with a local depot and account manager which would enable them to build a strong relationship between both parties. Feedback from the customer was about listening to their needs,
finding a solution and making sure we have time to listen and work with them.
Veolia delivers the required services from various local service centres including Birmingham, Hinckley, Derby, Stoke, Lincoln,
Cambridge, Norwich, Northampton and Beighton with the collection of mixed recycling and general waste from stores, funeral homes , travel shops and distribution centres.
The success of the contract has led to the service expanding to cover the travel, funeral and distribution centres waste contracts with Veolia working closely with Central England Co-operative to identify further waste streams that can be recycled and recovered. Regular meetings with the locally based regional Account Manager helped with the smooth transition of services.
Veolia and Central England Co-operative continually communicate, which has led to an improved service offering for all sites, ensuring collections are always made within scope and leaving the sites running smoothly.
Value delivered
Veolia has implemented significant changes to the waste-handling processes on site across the numerous sites, increased recycling rates and user awareness, and helped return an improved service.
