Our Hazardous Waste Infrastructure
Using our in-house treatment facilities provides access to the latest technologies for the best overall environmental option for your waste.
We offer some of the industry's most innovative solutions and we're constantly developing new and more efficient ways to reuse your waste products.
We have a national network of inorganic and organic hazardous waste facilities where the neutralisation of acidic and alkaline materials, de-watering of sludges, and handling of low level radioactive materials are carried out. We also have a number of other specialist hazardous waste treatment and recovery services capable of managing clinical waste, solvent recovery, and marine waste requirements.
Health and safety
We work to exacting standards. All of our facilities are fully permitted and have gained ISO9001, ISO14001 and OHSAS 18001 accreditation. All sites have comprehensive systems that trace your waste from ‘cradle to grave’.
On-site laboratory facilities offer full analysis of your waste before collection and on arrival, ensuring your legal compliance.

170 metres below ground, we provide an innovative and secure underground storage solution for up to 100,000 tonnes of hazardous waste every year.
The worked-out areas of a rock salt mine in Cheshire provide a dry, secure, gas-free storage environment for the permanent disposal of a range of solid and granular hazardous wastes.
The nature of the facility and the unique environment provide the best overall environmental option for a number of specific hazardous waste streams.
To ensure the integrity of the facility, strict site specific testing criteria are used in the pre-acceptance process, including mine condition testing. This simulates how the waste will behave in typical mine conditions and includes biodegradability testing and gas evolution tests.
