Advantages & Considerations of Solar Photovoltaic Energy

Solar photovoltaic energy is a sustainable renewable energy source. As it continues to be adopted on a wider scale it alleviates the reliance that we currently have on traditional energy sources fuelled by fossil fuels.

Solar panels have no kinetic parts and require little maintenance, reducing long-term operational costs. The main maintenance expense will be in the form of cleaning.

Initial installation costs can be quite expensive but long term savings off-set this expense. However, it is important to acknowledge that the cost of solar panels is decreasing as the solution continues to be adopted on a wider scale.
