BiTC Recognises Veolia as Game Changers

Kevin Hurst, Marketing and Communications Director Veolia, recognised as BiTC 'Game Changer'

Last night Business in the Community (BiTC) recognised the innovative approach of two senior Veolia Environmental Services staff for the crucial role they have played in driving forward the responsible business agenda.

Kevin Hurst, Marketing and Communications Director and Simone Looi, QHSE Deputy Director were both announced as ‘Game Changers’ as responsible business leaders nominated by the BiTC.

Kevin and Simone were put forward following the roles they played in implementing the company’s ‘Go Further Together’ CR strategy implemented throughout Veolia which was the catalyst for it receiving the coveted platinum rating in the BiTC’s 2012 Corporate Responsibility Index.

Stephen Howard, Chief Executive for Business in the Community said:  “We are delighted to be able to recognise some of the brightest stars in corporate responsibility through our Game Changers award. As a campaigning membership organisation we are dependent on individuals from business to help us drive the agenda.”

“Without the energy and passion of Game Changers like Kevin and Simone I doubt very much if the UK responsible business movement would be quite so mature. They truly deserve this recognition which I hope will act as an inspiration to others.”

Kevin and Simone were in good company with other Game Changers from household names such as M&S, Sainsbury’s and Waitrose.  The awards were announced at the BiTC’s AGM which was held on Tuesday 4 December as part of their 30th birthday celebrations.
